Got scammed , embarrassed as tourists
Sorry for the long post as i tried to include every detail .
I hail from ranchi , jharkhand and we are non bengali speakers nor we understand bengali just for insight. I recently visted digha for first time along with my wife and a friend couple . The hotel was fine and staff was friendly till the time we decided to use pool facilities. As mentioned at pool and at multiple places , drinking at pool was prohibited but the moment we entered the pool , a dolt accompanied by his keep and 2 little children came to pool and started drinking . This very behavior astonished me but to add to the drama they bought a big bluetooth speaker and started blasting obscene songs . There were few more couples in the pool at that time . I saw a staff and asked him to make the guest behave properly, instead of paying heed to my complaints he shrugged off . I approached the idiots myself and asked to drop the drama but he started bengali banter . The hotel staff kept numb and stood audience to the spectacle. The dolt from the pool communicated with the staff and had a great laugh. I was baffled and decided to checkout immediately to which the staff agreed. Is this behavior very common in kolkata or am i being frantic. My wife had great regard for bengali people and their food but by her looks it was clear that she was very disappointed. We checked in another hotel and went to the beach in evening and saw a person with security acting like principal and chasing people 😳 and we were like wtf. We have been to multiple places but so far this place was letting me down big time . We strolled among the beach kiosks for some artifact and souvenir shopping . My wife puchased some items and paid in cash and we moved along . After few steps , we heard a person calling out and we turned . It was the same shopkeeper, he came came running and asked us to pay for items and started to create scene before other tourists and shops . Now this was new for everyone of us as these allegations were damn very serious . I could feel my hands trembling and emotions race on adrenaline. I tried hard not to punch the man's face . My wife pleaded me and we had to yield and paid the shopkeeper again . All four of us were dumbstruck and sat for about 30 min in silence trying to assimilate recent debacle . I never saw my wife cry, clearly she was devastated the most . We left very next morning and i thought we will forget these events but we had something more in-store. The bengal police stopped and checked out car for a total 9 times till we left the bengal borders . It was preety clear that the registration no .JH was nothing more but a lure for these cops .I could feel that the times has conspired agaist us to screw i every possible manner. As i was passing by a narrow patch i noticed a man waving hand to stop the car . He was accompanied by 2-3 person . One tried to engage me in directions and tried to convince me that this was a wrong route . I noticed something fishy as there was child not clearly visible from my side and he was upto something . I opened the door and stepped out to reach the left side of the car and saw that a goat was made to sit in front of the tyre . I immediately understood their scam and asked them to remove the goat . The goat stood and started to limp as we left . I hardly travelled 500 mts , a group of people blocked our road . I had to stop . They reached out and started demanding compensation for the goat that has met an accident with our car . Immediately a bike came and a person we met earlier unloaded the limping goat . The mob was waiting for the drama and it appeared each and every one was an accomplice to this mind blowing scam . People were laughing , gigling and few continued extorting us for the goat which was limp by birth or made limp for this scam's purpose. They haggled and bargained and reached a final amount of 500 rupees and i did what was expected out me ..to pay up . I left the bengal borders and stopped for a tea break and what a relief i felt and i dared not to look back the alien land . Now the big question , was these chain of events normal or a special welcome treat for non bengali speaking people riding Jh registration vehicles.

I’m currently in the process of switching niches from Urban Exploration to Photography and would love feedback on how I can improve my content going forward.
I have a direction going forward which involves focusing on providing value to the viewer rather than just entertainment - tutorials and content that gets you thinking or wanting to get out and shoot - as well as giving the viewer what they want (in thumbnail/title/hook) and then what they need (meat of the video).
I have been in talks with much bigger creators in the community which has definitely opened my eyes to how I can go about things BUT instead of following in their footsteps, I want to fill the void they’re missing.
There’s a gang of new videos on my channel as I started the transition at the start of the year and have been keeping steady with regular uploads since then, but still feel like something is missing. Any help, feedback or criticism is welcome, as long as it’s helpful (ain’t nobody want useless information!).

I’m currently in the process of switching niches from Urban Exploration to Photography and would love feedback on how I can improve my content going forward.
I have a direction going forward which involves focusing on providing value to the viewer rather than just entertainment - tutorials and content that gets you thinking or wanting to get out and shoot - as well as giving the viewer what they want (in thumbnail/title/hook) and then what they need (meat of the video).
I have been in talks with much bigger creators in the community which has definitely opened my eyes to how I can go about things BUT instead of following in their footsteps, I want to fill the void they’re missing.
There’s a gang of new videos on my channel as I started the transition at the start of the year and have been keeping steady with regular uploads since then, but still feel like something is missing. Any help, feedback or criticism is welcome, as long as it’s helpful (ain’t nobody want useless information!).

Hi! I'm planning on a solo backpacking trip to Western Europe next summer (May-July) and want more feedback on my itinerary! I already posted in solotravel but this sub is bigger so I thought, well, the more feedback the better! My budget is around $15k Canadian including flights (1 USD = 1.3 CAD, so that's around $11.5k USD). I'm planning on staying in dorm rooms in hostels in the big cities and private rooms in hostels in the small towns. I'm leaving this week for a trip to Berlin + Munich which is why they're not on the itinerary.
I know I'm spending a lot of days in London and Paris - I'm planning on hitting up thrift stores and doing a few day trips from them, which is why my stays are so long.
My questions are:

• Am I moving around too much? Should I set up a home base (for example, in Belgium and Austria) and just commute from there? I'm planning on getting the 3-month Eurail pass, so the cost of train trips isn't an issue. I just don't like moving around every few days.
• Is this trip doable on my budget? I'm planning on going to a lot of museums, but I'm not a big spender on food (planning on eating at restaurants around once or twice a day and hitting up the grocery store for the rest) and don't drink much alcohol

I (23 mtf) attempted to talk to my girlfriend (23f) of almost 4 years about the possibility of me transitioning and it went worse then I thought it would.
For context; my girlfriend and I have been together for almost 4 years and have been through a lot together including me going through a pretty severe medical situation which I have mostly recovered from right at the start of our relationship. We own a house together, share finances, and have plans to have a family together. I have been a male presenting person up until this point in my life although my girlfriend Has known I am bisexual for a lot of our relationship and had no issues with that.
Over recent months I’ve been exploring myself and have sorta come to the conclusion that I may be transgender. This was sparked because my cousin recently got married to another man and my traditional catholic family’s reaction was surprisingly accepting which encouraged me to stop restricting myself based on others. I have recently began cross dressing and even bought prosthetic breasts.
Up until putting on the prosthetic breasts my girlfriend was very supportive. I think she though I was treating it as a fetish as we’d usually have sex.
After trying on the prosthetics I had a whirlwind of emotions and have had some of the worst dysphoria I have ever had since then.
I tried talking to my girlfriend about this last night. I told her that I think I may be trans, and she was more confused then anything and asked me to explain what I meant. I told her that I was at the very least considering hrt and socially transitioning over a long period of time.
She basically said that she didn’t want that because it would complicate her life too much. She wants a family. I do too. This just isn’t what she signed up for. She almost had this thought that if I went through with this I’d have to “set her free” so to speak. I just feel awful because she’s the love of my life and I can’t stand the thought of losing her. She has since apologized for her reaction and said that she doesn’t want to lose me no matter what but I can’t shake the feeling that she’ll feel trapped in our relationship should I actually transition.
On top of this, I work in private law enforcement. Meaning if I were to socially transition i would likely turn into a news story or id be bullied out of my job. That’s terrifying. I love my career. In my role I quite literally save lives on a daily basis and love my current role. I work for a very large company which has other transgender employees, but none of which are in the law enforcement department which has a much more traditional management and culture.
How on earth do people handle all of this. Do you give up on the life you’ve started to build to feel whole about your identity, or do you simply suffer in silence so your career and love life don’t disappear?
I feel terrible being forced to choose.

My respect for Transgender people 📈

I'm currently 34, going on 19 months of hrt and the loneliness has been hitting hard. I've always been kind of a loner, and had few friends because of it, and even fewer close friends. Currently I don't have many close female friends and that's been bugging me, especially because old memories I'd long since buried have come rushing back.....
I remember a girl I was friends with when I was younger, we played Pokemon, watched nickelodeon, went to theme parks, and went swimming.... Yet it's so fuzzy we were close but now I can't remember her name, sometimes I cry not knowing what happened to her and if she's okay.
Then I had another friend, in my early twenties we played Xbox all night, watched movie together, sent each other memes, and confided in each other. Then one day they told me they were a trans woman and finally I met someone like me, I was excited, happy, sad, jealous because I couldn't accept myself for who I was and this person got to live how I wanted to be. So I did something stupid and in the moment instead of being there for them I told them I loved them, got weird, got clingy because of I couldn't be me maybe I could live through someone else..... They rejected me, blocked me, and talked shit about me... I was hurt. Eventually mutual friends got involved and we started talking again but nothing was the same. Eventually we stopped talking, stopped playing games and became strangers. I still have her on different friends list, and she's changed her name and updated profile pics and looks so happy now. I tried reaching out once over the last year to apologize for what happened, but never got a response. It's my own fault but still I miss my friend and have so much to tell her.
Now I feel like life's drifting once again and I'm losing the friends closest to me now. Since I've been transitioning people haven't been hostile but definitely more distant and I know that life is ever changing but I miss my friends and who I used to know them as. I sometimes think I should ask mom if she remembers that little girl I used to play with and try to find her again, I think about reaching out to my Xbox friend one more time.. finding the right words to start a dialogue again. I think about what I can say and do differently to keep the friends I have now close but nothing seems to work.
I think maybe it's time to move on, that life changes, people change, and bonds come and go. Maybe I'm to clingy, and I can't quite let go of the past.. maybe it's just me.

My older sister and I had a very traumatic childhood.
She was physically abused by our parents and I witnessed it. 6.5 year age difference. Our parents fought each other physically as well and extreme narcissistic.
I was physically abused on a few occasions but mainly had to deal with covert emotional incest neglect, and mental abuse(as far as I can remember anyway)
I have blocked out the majority if my childhood and have definitely disassociated from many things. Some things are starting to come to the surface.
My sister and I both recently started having worries of CSA (without prompting each other)
Our maternal grandfather was incredibly abusive to our mom and siblings(SA and much more)
My sister feels she was abused by him.
Based on some weird circumstances of my own I have come to terms I was a victim of CSA either by my grandfather or others.

Something I’m not sure “qualifies” as sexual abuse My parents “pranked” me 3 times when I was around 8/9 years old.
Twice my dad snuck into the bathroom to film me naked. Another time after a shower my mom snuck up behind me and hoisted me up by my legs to pull my towel off to reveal me to my dad filming with their camcorder.
I never told anyone and when I was nearly molested by a camp councillor shortly thereafter I didn’t tell my dad until my 30s and the reaction was surprisingly non-plussed to the point he forgot to even tell my mom and neither of them have even discussed it with me even after I brought it up another time.
Makes me wonder if they abused me in some capacity when I was too young to remember or I’ve blocked out more than I thought.
I have a weird memory/dream that I French kissed my mom when I was really young.
I’ve harboured that my entire life thinking it had to be a dream, but I had it at an age I would never have even known what French kissing is.
I had constant nightmares in my adolescence of a dark force dragging me into rooms that I could never escape.
My dad said one time I saw him naked and I went and stood in the corner with my head down as if I was ashamed/embarrassed and I apparently would also go outside and they would find me standing in our yard.
Even seeing a few “harmless” photos of me naked as a young child at the beach triggers me due to all the other circumstances of my upbringing.
I have a young son and he’s at the age where all the things started happening to me, so I feel like that may be why so many feelings and memories are surfacing because I could never imagine treating him a fraction of the way we were treated.

So I’m leaving the Bay Area after living here for 10 months. The job that I had here didn’t work out and I ended up accepting a position in my home state. Upon arriving here in July of last year, I experienced numerous setbacks and hardships. The adjustment was very difficult. My spouse and I were often miserable and alone. We frequently traveled back home any opportunity we had.
Now that our time here has come to an end, I honestly am noticing how great this area is. The hills, hiking trails, and beaches are breathtaking. I love how the Bay Area pretty much goes from Fall to Spring weather in a matter of hours. It never feels too warm or cold! I like how fast paced everything is as well and that you can find anything you want if you look hard enough.
Yes, the Bay Area can be a little unforgiving. It seems that you have to really put in the effort to make it work but it is possible. I will say that the work culture is a little intense but overall, manageable.
I can see why people love this area and consider it home. I am leaving tomorrow and I feel sad that it took this long to really appreciate the Bay Area. I’m going to miss it here and I really wish things worked out!

Big big battles of like 300 plus players (150 a side) trying to either capture or defend 3 objectives at once. I don't know what the time limit on it would be, offensive is if done right just shy of 2½ hours. Warfare is 1½. I'd say something big like 3½-4 hours duration, or until one side losses either all capture zones, or runs out of respawn ticket's. Capturing and holding zones would increase the amount of tickets available. If you manage to capture 2 of the 3 zones on the front line, and then get pushed back, you could lose those zones again, making it a far more tactical game. You'd have to designate who's defending, who's flanking, who's assaulting, etc.
Omaha Beach as an example, playing as the US, what I find sort of lacking is that you can assault the beach objective by doing a long flank. In reality, no matter where you were on that beach, you would be mown down. I recognise the game has limits, and these limits actually help when it comes to the maps, as no two games are the same. I just think it would be cool to have these even bigger battles that truly encompass the whole map.

Background: I've been working with my current therapist (CT) for about 18 months, after my previous therapist shifted her career. Both of them handled the transition as best as they could but it was still devastating for me, and it's taken me a long time to warm up and even begin to trust CT.
Last session she mentioned a podcast episode that had something to do with diet and adrenaline, since I have a sleep disorder and high anxiety. I was curious so I told her to pass it along. When I checked it out, I decided to research the background of the "expert" guest on the podcast, because if someone is going to be talking about things of that nature, I want to know that they know what they're talking about. There's just so much anti-science nonsense out there.
Well, the "expert" is not a doctor, or a nutritionist, and only got what (somewhat unrelated) certifications she has AFTER she came up with her "miracle cure" and started marketing it back in the 90s. I don't think she calls it that but that is how it's presented. It's also a highly restrictive diet fixated on exactly one nutrient as the end-all, be-all determinant of health. In short, it's quackery.
Just as bad if not worse, the "expert" herself is a legislator whose beliefs go against science and human rights. There is nothing about her that is credible or trustworthy.
Knowing CT, I don't think she knows the background of the person who was a guest on this podcast, and I think the ideas presented were just interesting to her and she thought they might be helpful to me. But this has really hit my trust (and respect) for CT. Not sure how to feel about this, or what to do, or how to broach the topic if at all.
