for the last 2 months my 2012 jeep patriot has been making a weird loud rattling noise when idle from the passenger side from under the hood. when i accelerate it makes a whining noise. i got a car wash today and it’s seems significantly louder. i’ve had some people look/ listen and they told me something like a loose pulley, bad bearing, worn alternator belt, and even a bad cam lifter but i feel like that would’ve stopped me from driving a long time ago. any idea?? i’m not much of a car guy so i wouldn’t really know lol.

Took a piss test today using monkey flask 5/31. Shook the heat pad a bit before I stuck it on the opposite side of the flask. Then obviously put the temp strip side facing my crotch area. I wanted to make sure it stayed warm so I just had it against my body INSIDE my boxers. Wore some thick Adidas shorts over my boxers and some loose jeans over that with Cowboy boots. Thought about putting the flask in the sleeves of my boots but it was my first piss test so decided to play it safe just in case they asked me to remove them. Wore a belt also to make my outfit look more normal and fitting. Waited at home for an hour and a half before I left to take the test with the flask warming up in my pants. I’m in Texas so keeping it hot while driving towards the clinic wasn’t a problem. Waited a bit in my car with the ac off for about 10 mins before entering. It read 102 at that point and I just said fuck it. Rather it be too hot than too cold. Signed in and everything. Waited about 15 mins then got called in. Was asked to empty my pockets, fill the cup between a minimum/maximum marker and was given 4 mins. Unbuckled my pants and decided to do everything as calmly and silently as I could. Popped the flask as it still read 102 and just shook it a bit to make it fizz. After filling the cup to my liking I immediately made sure it was sealed correctly. Peed a bit in the toilet after and held it to make it seem like I was actually taking it myself. Came out the restroom and temperature seemed correct to the Nurse and sent me off the rest my day. I’m sitting here at the car wash. My car randomly died. No idea why. Hasn’t given me any troubles.
Asked about 10 people for jumps, no one has cables. I had self self-jump box but forgot I gave them to my ex-girl a while back. An ex girl who would’ve stopped everything she had going on to come help me. She was ALWAYS there for me in my time of need, no matter what it was. She can’t say the same. I was a horrible fucking man. And now as I sit in my car waiting for the tow man to come jump me for $100 (wtf) all I can do is somberly say to myself, you fucking idiot, you had a life partner and amazing one but all you did is hurt her and she’s finally gone for good. She’s in the skies and you’re in the dirt. Serves me right.

I'm seeking some advice and insights regarding a series of strange electrical issues that have been plaguing my 2006 Honda Civic lately. I'm hoping someone here can help shed some light on what might be going on.
It started during a road trip from California to Louisiana. I’m a medical student and I had to be in Louisiana by Monday(I left Friday). Coming out of California, I stopped at a rest stop and when I started my car again after 5 mins the AC wouldn’t work. I thought it might need a a recharge or whatever but looking at it I didn’t see the compressor running. And the pressures were very high when I checked on the low pressure line. It had been working perfectly for the last 4 hours.
When I stopped in Phoenix and started the car the next morning, I noticed that the dreaded "Check Engine" light had decided to make an appearance. I drove it from Phoenix to Tucson with no issues but I knew going into Texas there’s a long stretch with not much on the way so I decided to get it checked. Got the code read at O’Reilly’s and it was “P0507 - Idle Air Control System RPM Higher Than Expected”. Didn’t think the car had been idling any different and there were no real issues but I couldn’t risk it so I showed it to a mechanic nearby. He looked at it and said it needed a new throttle valve/body. I tried to get some more information about what was wrong with it, whether it just needed to be cleaned etc. He kept being vague saying it’s just not working and said maybe an electrical issue when really pressed. Charged me $1300 for parts and labor - felt like I was being ripped off (and also felt there was nothing wrong with the throttle body and don’t think he really did anything) but I didn’t have the luxury of waiting around and other shops were closed. This issue hasn’t reoccurred(maybe they just cleaned it?)
To add to the confusion, the following day, while driving, I noticed that the "Daytime Running Lights" (DRL) light on my dashboard had come on and the daytime running lights were flickering intermittently when I checked. Not a huge issue I thought, I can replace those. However, the issue mysteriously resolved itself the very next day and hasn’t reoccurred.
Fast forward a couple of days, and the left speaker in my car suddenly stopped working. I hadn't made any changes to the audio system, so this was completely unexpected. It seemed like the electrical gremlins were at it again, targeting a different component this time.
Just to provide some additional information, my car's battery was replaced last year, and I haven't noticed any battery-related issues. There's no battery light on, and the car continues to run and start without any problems. The only “new thing” is a CarPlay system that plugs into the DC outlet that I put in a week before I left California.
At this point, I'm at a loss as to what could be causing these sporadic electrical issues. I haven’t had it parked for a prolonged time and didn’t notice any animals but I haven’t looked at it too closely. I have driven this car in California for a year without issues and all throughout the US before that over the past couple of years. I thought I'd reach out to this community for any insights or suggestions you might have. Has anyone experienced something similar? Any ideas on what might be going on?
I am going to take it mechanic and have them run a diagnostic but I thought I’d gather some ideas before I go.
Any expertise and guidance would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance for your help!
TL;DR: My car's electrical issues started with the AC going out at the start of a road trip. Check Engine light came on the next day and I got it fixed(throttle body issue), followed by DRL light flickering, which resolved itself. Days later, the left speaker stopped working. So I (21M) have a friend (21M) whose parents went through a divorce in 2021, father cheated. In the beginning it was fairly easy no real drama, but a few months him, his two older sisters and mother starting finding some no so great things out about the father. Apparently throughout their 25 years of marriage he had cheated close to 10 times and one of those times the mistress became so obsessed that they had to move from Texas to Georgia, where I met him, bc she started stalking their whole family. Fast forward a couple months his oldest sister is getting married and their dad is dating his most recent mistress still. At the sister’s rehearsal dinner his middle sister sees on his phone that their dad had secretly gotten married to his mistress about 3 months earlier. Fast forward to that summer my friend and his mom had gotten into a big argument involving him and his college he’s attending and it got so bad he had to stay at his girlfriends house for a week. His mom told his dad and they all had a talk a few days later where his dad took away his car and stopped paying for his college, both were stipulations in the divorce agreement, as well as he said that, “if he ever put his hands on his mom again his dad would kick his ass.” Apparently he had grabbed his mom’s arms because she was shouting and started flailing them, he’s had problems with physical bullying in the past, and I guess it was misconstrued to his father. He hasn’t talked to his dad since and ow he is paying for his own college through loans and job paychecks and he is relying on others for car rides to get everywhere. He is planning on proposings to his girlfriend soon and told me that he doesn’t know if he wants his dad to be there bc of everything that happened. So what do you think he should do? Or what advice can you give me to give to him?

Car Wash Damage
I went through a car wash recently and it damaged my vehicle. Naturally the car wash is denying it. I have been searching for similar damage to vehicles from a car wash and have been struggling. Any ideas? I have tried using a light abrasive to remove it and it did not help.
